Editor's Pick: Hand Picked Highlights Your Viewers Trust

Editor's Pick fills the hero carousel at the top of your home page with titles your team chose, so viewers meet your best content first.

Human Curation at the Top of the Home Page

Editor's Pick is the carousel at the top of your Vodlix home page, and every slide in it is a title your team chose. The rows below it fill themselves: Recent sorts by date and Trending by popularity. Editor's Pick is the one place where a person decides, for quality, relevance or timing, what a viewer sees first. It takes films, series, single episodes and live channels, so the first screen of your service shows your editorial judgement rather than a sort order.

Surface Hidden Gems in Your Catalogue

A title with few views never climbs the Trending row, however good it is. Editor's Pick puts it in front of viewers anyway: search the catalogue by title in the Add Video picker, choose it, and it joins the carousel on the home page. Separate pickers add TV shows, single episodes and live channels, and Populate List can fill the list from categories and tags. Only published titles are accepted, so a draft never reaches the carousel by accident.

Update Picks to Match Trends and Campaigns

A holiday collection, a themed week or a tie-in with a new release can lead the home page and then make way when the moment passes. In the Editor Picks list you drag rows into the order you want and the order saves automatically; select titles and Remove from list takes them out without touching the titles themselves. No app release is involved: the web storefront and the apps read the same list, so returning viewers find a fresh carousel wherever they watch.

Showcase the Titles That Matter Most

On the web, each pick is a full-width slide with its title art, a short synopsis and Play and More Info buttons. You decide how the slides look: turn on Video Preview and a slide plays its trailer when one is attached, set the title length and font size, and choose portrait or landscape slides on phones, in the mobile app and on the mobile web. A new acquisition, an award winner or a title that deserves a second look gets the most prominent place your service has.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to the questions we hear most. Still unsure? Talk to our team.

What is Editor's Pick on Vodlix?
Editor's Pick is a hand-picked list of titles that Vodlix shows as the hero carousel at the top of your home page. Your team chooses the films, series, episodes or live channels in it and the order they appear in.
How is Editor's Pick different from the other home page rows?
Rows such as Recent and Trending fill themselves by date or popularity. Editor's Pick is chosen and ordered by your team, so it can lead with a title an automatic row would never put first.
How often can I update Editor's Pick on Vodlix?
As often as you like. Add, remove and reorder titles on the Editor Picks screen in the admin. The order saves automatically, and the web storefront and the apps read the same list, so no app release is needed.
What does Editor's Pick do for engagement?
It puts the titles you most want watched in the first thing viewers see, with a Play button on every slide, so a strong title does not depend on viewers scrolling down to find it.
Can Editor's Pick feature hidden gems?
Yes. Any published title can be picked, including one with too few views to appear in the Trending row.
Does Editor’s Pick replace the automatic rows?
No. It sits above them. Recent, Trending and your own content lists still appear below the carousel.
Is Editor’s Pick available on all devices?
The same list feeds the home page on the web storefront and in the apps. On the mobile app you can show the slides in portrait or landscape.
Does Editor’s Pick support analytics and reporting?
There is no separate report for the list itself. Insights shows views, watch time and completion for every title, so you can see how each pick performs after it joins the carousel.
Is Editor’s Pick suitable for niche platforms?
Absolutely. Editor’s Pick is ideal for niche OTT platforms like education, fitness, faith, sports, and independent film services.
