Subscriptions That Renew Without You Touching Them

Sell access by the day, the month or the year. Vodlix handles the plans, the free trials and the renewals, along with all the awkward parts. Upgrades, downgrades, failed cards, cancellations. Recurring revenue arrives without anyone having to chase it.

Subscriptions That Renew Without You Touching Them

Recurring Revenue Is a Systems Problem, Not a Pricing One

Picking a monthly price is the easy part. What really decides whether a subscription business works is everything that happens afterwards. The trial that has to convert on day fourteen. The card that expires in month seven. The viewer who wants to move up a tier halfway through a cycle, and the one who cancels in November and comes back in March. Get those wrong and you leak revenue quietly for years. Vodlix treats subscriptions as billing infrastructure rather than a checkout button, so the recurring side of your business looks after itself and your team spends its time on programming instead of invoices.

Billing That Runs Itself

Every renewal, refund, credit and failed charge is recorded against the viewer's account, with a running balance and a transaction history they can read without ever contacting you. Subscribers can hold money in a wallet, add to it whenever it suits them, and let renewals draw against that balance. In markets where cards are not the default way people pay, that alone can decide whether you get paid at all. When a charge does fail, the subscription moves into a grace period rather than cutting someone off in the middle of an episode, and retries run on a schedule you control. All of it works with whichever provider you already use through our payment gateway integrations.

Daily, monthly, annual

Run any billing period you like, side by side. Weekend passes, monthly plans and a discounted annual tier can all sit in the same catalogue without a separate integration.

Vodlix Trial Management for Users
Free trials that convert

Offer a first month free, or any trial length you choose, and let the plan roll into a paid term automatically. Viewers see exactly what they will be charged and when, which is what keeps chargebacks down.

Vodlix Content Bundles and Bouquests
Tiers people understand

Gate on video quality, on how many screens can watch at once, or on slices of the catalogue, so the difference between your entry plan and your premium one is obvious at a glance.

Plans Your Viewers Can Actually Read

A subscription page fails the moment someone has to work out what they are actually buying. Vodlix lays your plans out as plain cards that answer the obvious questions. What it costs. How often it renews. How many screens it covers. What happens when the trial ends. The same cards appear on the web, in your mobile apps and on your TV apps. Purchases made inside the iOS and Android apps run through the stores' own billing and carry the renewal terms those stores insist on, so your apps pass review instead of bouncing back. Restore Purchase brings an existing subscriber back on a new device without anyone raising a support ticket.

Where the Plans Are Built

Plans, pricing, billing periods and trials are all configured in one place, so launching a new tier or changing a price is an afternoon rather than a project. Because the same settings drive the web storefront and the apps, a plan created once appears everywhere a subscriber might meet it.

Upgrades, Downgrades and the Ones Who Leave

Subscribers rarely stay on the plan they started with. Vodlix lets them move up or down a tier whenever they like and works out the difference automatically, so a viewer who wants Ultra HD for a single month is never told to cancel and start again. Cancellations run to the end of the period already paid for rather than stopping dead, which is fairer and makes winning people back far easier later on. Every one of those events lands in your sales dashboard and reports, so churn by plan and by month becomes something you can read rather than guess at. When one model does not fit your whole audience, run subscriptions alongside rentals and purchases or gift vouchers. The full range of monetization models can operate on one platform at the same time.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions about taking advantage of this limited-time offer? Check out the FAQ for answers.

What is SVOD?
SVOD stands for Subscription Video on Demand. Viewers pay a recurring fee, daily, monthly or annually, for access to your catalogue while the subscription stays active, rather than buying titles one at a time. It is the model behind most of the large streaming services.
How many subscription plans can I offer?
As many as you need. Plans can differ by billing period, price, video quality, how many screens can watch at once, and which parts of the catalogue they unlock. They can all run at the same time.
Can I offer a free trial?
Yes. Set a trial length on any plan and it converts to a paid term automatically when the trial ends. The viewer is shown the trial period and the price that follows it before they confirm anything.
What happens when a subscriber changes plan partway through a cycle?
They can upgrade or downgrade at any point and the difference is worked out automatically, so nobody has to cancel and sign up again just to move between tiers. The change is recorded against their account along with the adjusted charge.
What happens if a renewal payment fails?
The subscription moves into a grace period instead of being cut off straight away, and the payment is retried on a schedule you configure. That gives the subscriber time to update their card without losing access, which recovers revenue that would otherwise churn.
Do subscriptions work inside the mobile apps?
Yes. Purchases in the iOS and Android apps run through Apple and Google billing and carry the renewal terms those stores require for review. A subscriber who reinstalls the app or switches device can use Restore Purchase to get their access back.
Can subscribers pay from a wallet balance instead of a card?
They can. Viewers can hold a balance, add to it when it suits them, and let renewals draw against it. This is particularly useful in markets where card ownership is low or where people simply prefer to pay in advance.
Can I run subscriptions alongside rentals and advertising?
Yes. SVOD, TVOD and AVOD can all operate on the same platform at once, and a single title can be free with ads for one audience and behind a subscription for another. See our overview of OTT monetization models for how the three fit together.
