Ask for marketing consent when viewers sign up, email the groups you choose, send only to people who opted in, and sync your subscribers to Vertex CRM.
Email marketing for streaming lets you write to your viewers from the same admin that runs your platform, with consent handled for you. Viewers choose whether to receive marketing email when they sign up. You write a campaign, pick who gets it, and send it in batches. With opt-in enforcement switched on, marketing email only reaches viewers who said yes, while account, billing and security emails still go to everyone. On the Professional, Business and Enterprise plans, a Vertex CRM plan is included so your sales and marketing teams can work with the same subscribers. It suits marketing and CRM teams, and services in markets with strict consent rules such as GDPR.
An opt-in checkbox in your own words.
Email only the viewers you choose.
On Professional plans and above.
Your signup form can ask every new viewer for marketing consent before the account is created. Next to the username, email and password fields, viewers see a checkbox to agree to your terms, with links to your terms and conditions and privacy policy, and a separate checkbox to opt in to marketing email. You write the wording of both checkboxes and choose whether the opt-in box starts ticked or unticked. Leave it unticked if your market requires consent to be an active choice. The viewer's answer is saved on their account, so you always know who agreed.
A campaign arrives in the viewer's inbox from your own sender address, with your subject line and your message. Use it to announce a new season, a premiere or a price offer, and link straight to the title on your platform. Messages can include headings, lists, links and images, and personal details such as the viewer's username or email address are filled in for each person. Because only opted-in viewers receive campaigns when enforcement is on, your emails go to people who asked to hear from you.
Your iOS app can ask viewers for permission before it tracks them, as Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) rules require. Turn on App Tracking Transparency in the mobile app settings, which you need if your app shows ads, and the app shows Apple's standard prompt, where the viewer chooses to allow tracking or ask the app not to track. Together with the opt-in checkbox at signup, viewers decide for themselves how their data is used for marketing. See iOS app for the rest of what your branded iPhone app can do.
Mass email lets you send one campaign to a chosen group of viewers instead of your whole list. Pick the user levels that should receive it, such as registered users, and narrow the group by whether accounts are active, whether they are banned, and a date range. Set the sender address and subject, write the message, and save it as a campaign. Large sends go out in batches of a size you set, and the campaign list shows each campaign with its status, how many emails were sent and when.
One switch makes your email marketing consent-based. With Enforce marketing opt-in on, mass marketing emails only go to viewers who explicitly opted in, whatever audience a campaign selects. Account, billing and security emails are always sent. The Email Subscribers screen shows how many viewers you have, how many opted in and how many opted out. Search any viewer by email or username, filter by consent, change one viewer with a switch, or opt a selected group in or out at once after a confirmation.
Vertex CRM is included with the Professional, Business and Enterprise plans, and the Vertex CRM integration sends your subscribers and their events to it. Switch the integration on in the Integrations screen and click Connect, which approves access and picks your Vertex workspace in one step, or paste an API key instead. The card shows Connected once it works. From then on, new activity flows to the CRM automatically, and a sync sends the subscribers you already have. Your sales and marketing teams then work from up-to-date viewer records instead of exports. Prefer another CRM? HubSpot is also available on the Integrations Directory.
Email marketing works best with the rest of your viewer settings. Signup & Sign In decides which fields the signup form asks for and whether new accounts must verify their email address. User Management lets you find and manage any viewer account, and Login & Account Security keeps those accounts safe. To connect other marketing and analytics tools, browse the Integrations Directory. Automatic sign-up, payment and reminder messages are covered by push notifications and system emails.
