Bring viewers back with push notifications and branded emails, and keep your team informed with in-app, email and browser alerts. You choose the channels for every event.
Push notifications on your OTT platform tell viewers when something they care about is ready, and the same system keeps your team up to date. Vodlix has 61 notification events: 26 for viewers and 35 for your admins. Viewers get push notifications on their phones, in-app messages and branded emails for sign-up, payments and subscriptions. Your team gets alerts in the admin panel, by email and as browser notifications. You can turn each event on or off and choose how it is delivered, with no code. It suits growth, CRM and operations teams who want fewer missed releases and faster answers when something goes wrong.
Viewers hear when it starts.
For viewers and your team.
Push, email, in-app or browser.
You can send a push notification to every viewer who uses your app, or to one device, straight from the admin panel. Write a title and a short message, choose Broadcast, and add the content ID of an episode or film so the app knows which title it is about. The notification arrives on the lock screen under your app's name and logo. Push is delivered through Firebase Cloud Messaging to your branded mobile apps. Viewers who never allowed notifications on their phone do not receive them.
Viewers can ask to be reminded about any live event or upcoming release on your calendar, and the platform sends the reminder for you. Each entry on the calendar has a bell. A signed-in viewer taps it, and when the time comes they get a push notification and an in-app message saying the title is starting soon. Four calendar events cover this: a reminder, a daily "out today" digest, "live event starting soon" and "live event started". The daily digest goes only to viewers who asked about something that day, never to your whole audience.
Every account and billing message your viewers receive is an automatic email with your logo and colours. There are 22 of them, including the welcome email, email verification, password resets, one-time sign-in codes, receipts, invoices, failed payments and subscription changes. Each template has a subject and body you can edit, a preview, a test send and its own on/off switch. The logo comes from your branding settings, and you can set an accent colour for the buttons and links. For newsletters and campaigns to viewers who opted in, see email marketing.
You decide which notifications your viewers get and how each one is delivered. The notification settings list every event in groups, with a switch to turn it on or off and a tick box for each channel it supports. Calendar reminders can go out by push, in-app and email; account and billing messages go by email. Enable all and Disable all work across the whole list, and each group has its own All on and All off. Open any event to preview what the push, the in-app message and the email will say before it reaches anyone.
Your team sees what is happening on the platform in one notification center, without checking each screen. 35 admin events cover videos and series, payments and subscriptions, settings changes and sign-ins to an admin account from a new device. They arrive under the bell in the admin panel and in a full inbox that counts unread, warning and critical items. You can filter by status or severity, search, mark items read and clear the inbox, and read items older than three months are removed on their own. A failed encoding or a failed payment is marked critical, so it is never lost among routine updates.
Each admin picks how they personally receive every alert: in the admin panel, by email, as a browser notification, or any mix. Browser notifications appear on the desktop even when the admin tab is closed. One person can get failed encodings everywhere while a colleague keeps only in-app messages, and bulk buttons switch a whole channel on or off at once. Personal choices only narrow things down: an event that is switched off for the platform stays off for everyone.
Setup takes a few fields in the admin. To switch on push notifications, turn on push in the settings and upload your Firebase private key file. For email, set your Website, Support and Welcome email addresses, then choose SMTP or PHP mail for sending. One mail setup is shared by every email the platform sends, to viewers and to admins.
